What happens to transparent areas in my PNG?
JPEG does not support transparency, so any transparent or semi-transparent pixels are filled with a solid background color before conversion. By default this is white, but you can choose a different color.
Is converting PNG to JPG lossy?
Yes. JPEG uses lossy compression, so the converted file will lose some image detail compared to the original PNG. The quality slider controls how much compression is applied — higher values preserve more detail at a larger file size.
